New Delhi, May 22 , Two girls from Faridabad and Mumbai shared the top honours by securing 98.4 per cent marks in the Class XII exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education as 81 per cent of 6.37 lakh candidates cleared the test.
Tannvi Aggrawal from Apeejay School, Faridabad, and Mritika Sen, student of Rajhans Vidyalaya Andheri West, Mumbai, emerged toppers in the test, held in March this year, securing 492 marks out of 500.
While Aggrawal is from Commerce stream, Sen wrote the papers in Science stream, the CBSE said.
In Delhi region, Subhasis Vadra of DPS R K Puram secured the first position with 490 marks in Science stream while Priyanka Bagai of Convent of Jesus and Mary, Central Delhi, topped in the Commerce stream with 488 marks.
Girls registered a pass percentage of 85.94 against 77.40 of boys.
A total of 6,37,976 students were registered for this year's exam. This year's pass percentage marks an increase of 0.09 per cent over the pass rate of last year.
A total of 3,40,876 students, including 1,61,139 girls, secured over 60 per cent marks. In Delhi, 71,130 students, including 38,622 girls, got more than 60 per cent marks.
