Whenever we talk about search engine optimization , the main talk of event is usually about <meta> tags ,<title> tags , robots.txt , <header> tags , <alt> , keyword density , posting frequency in a blog ,code structure and other factors which are mostly based on “on page optimization” .

In this Keyword competitive era millions of website are fighting for one single keyword so the top notch search engines like google uses algorithms that determines your website importance and index you accordingly.

So , how are you considered important by a bot who has no brain of itself but work on the algorithms made by some genius ! By your site’s interactivity , color scheme , keyword density etc…no!

Your site is considered important if it has a high page rank that increases when gets links from other authority

* The Google Page Rank of the site you link to : If the site that you have been linked to is important ( has a high page rank ) , the importance of your site is calculated keeping this factor in mind so the more important site you’re linked to the more important your site is (the more page rank it will be awarded) and higher you’ll be ranked.

* The number of websites that link to you it is an important factor the more webiste that link to you the more important your site is .

* The number of outgoing links that are there on the sites you link to

* The anchor text used to link to you .. it is a very important factor to rank your site for a specific keyword .Your site will be ranked higher for the keywords used the most to link to your site in anchor text

* The number of incoming and outgoing link you have on your website: the more links coming to your website the more it is considered important by search engines , the outgoing links tends to dilute your importance so remove all the unessessary links or use robots,txt to disallow them like links on comments of an article on your. So reduce your outgoing link to minimum as possible like people who are not linking back to you in a link exchange program.

* If you are using link exchange or paid position for your links ,remember to get onto the websites of your niche or that have a good relevancy to your site’s content .

* One way link to your sites from authority websites has a big positive impact on your ranking .

So , its useless to waste all your time figuring out whats wrong in your navigation menu or post length , try to build a good link emipre with authority websites in your niche and this will happen only if you have good unique and authentic content on your website/blog instead of copied content and scams.
