Madurai Kamraj University (MCA Entrance - 2012)

Examination Date: March 11, 2012 (Sunday)

Examination Timing: 9.30 a.m. to 11.10 a.m

Form Availability: December 23, 2011

Form Deadline: February 6, 2012

Minimum Education Qualification & Eligibility Requirements
  1. Graduate in any discipline with Mathematics as compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
    Or
  2. Graduate in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Software / IT
    The graduates with (a) or (b) should have 55% of total marks in Part III.
    The candidates who have not studied Mathematics in +2 level but having studied the subjects:
    1. Business Mathematics
    2. Business Mathematics & Operational Research
    3. Operations Research
    4. Business Mathematics and Statistics
    5. Numerical Methods and Mathematics
    only at graduate level are not eligible to apply.

Procedure for Submitting filled-in Application Form for Admission
  1. Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus.
  2. Applicants who are willing to apply for more than one course should use separate application form for each course.
  3. Registration Fee: Rs.600/-
  4. Instructions for filling-up the application.
    1. The entries in the application form should be made by the applicant in their own hand writing legibly in ENGLISH only.
    2. Details of the xerox copies of the certificate submitted along with the application should be furnished in the relevant column of the application.
  5. Enclosures to be sent along with the filled-in application.
    The candidates have to submit xerox copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application form Original certificates should not be sent.
    1. SSLC, HSE mark statement.
    2. U.G./P.G degree Marks statement / Grade certificates/ Provisional Certificate
    3. Community certificate obtained from Tahsildar/ Deputy Tahsildar concerned. 'Other Backward Class' certificate is for ADCPGE applicants. Otherwise it will not be taken into account.
    4. Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority.
    5. Certificate of Physically Handicapped / Leprosy cured: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Handicapped category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with photograph showing the nature of handicap.
    6. Sports Certificate: Candidates who want them to be considered under the Sports category should produce a certificate obtained from the concerned University Physical Director in Form-I/II/III for having represented the State / Inter-University tournaments / athletics.
    7. Military Certificate: Certificates to be produced
    8. +2 marks statement (compulsory)
    9. The candidates should fill-up the hall-ticket and NRI/sponsored certificate (if applicable) attached to the application and send along with the application.
    10. Two self addressed, stamped envelopes, each for Rs.10/- should be enclosed
    11. A Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, payable at Madurai towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed. SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course.
    12. If a candidate wants to apply for more than one course offered by the University, separate application should be submitted for each course. Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be enclosed with each application. For SC/ST candidates, the exemption from payment of Registration fee is applicable only for one course and with additional applications, Demand Draft towards registration fee as prescribed by the University should be attached with each application.
    13. The Demand Draft should have been obtained after the date of notification and on or before the last date for receipt of filled-in application.
      Note: Cheques, Postal Orders, Money Orders and cash will not be accepted.
      Students should write their name, complete address and course for which applied in Block letters on the reverse side of the demand draft.
      Registration fees, once paid, will not be refunded, adjusted or transferred under any circumstances.
    14. Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action.
    15. Certificates other than those required need not be enclosed
    16. The application form without the xerox copies of relevant certificates will not be considered.
    17. All the columns in the application should be filled-in. Incomplete application will be rejected.
  6. Photograph:
    Two recent passport size photographs of the applicant should be affixed; one on the column provided in the application form and the other in the Hall-Ticket.

Applications defective in any particulars, will summarily be rejected. Filled-in application should be sent on or before the last date to:-

Entrance Test
  • Applicants seeking admission for these courses are required to appear for the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University.
  • The entrance test will be of objective type for a period of 100 minutes.
  • Mere appearance for the entrance examination does not mean that the candidate is eligible for admission.
Course Outlines for Entrance Test
The entrance test will cover 30% components of Mathematics at the 10+2 level, 30% components of logical reasoning/analytical ability at the level of bachelor's degree, 10% components of proficiency in English at the level of Bachelor's Degree and a component of introductory knowledge of computers and computer application at introductory level constituting 30%.
